As most of you know, I have teamed up with Roots and Shoots Farm for this season’s CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Throughout the season, I will post updates about what we receive, recipe suggestions, and tips and tricks to get the most out of your CSA. To find a CSA in your area, simply search the Internet for “CSA” + your city.
There is a brisk breeze kissing my cheeks this morning as I prepare to pick up this summer’s last CSA share delivery.
Where did the time go? As the years go by, it seems like time goes by faster and faster.
How would I evaluate this year’s CSA …. brilliant. We received some old favourites and were introduced to some new items. Futsu and honeynut squash are my new favourite squashes.
What would I have liked to see more of: garlic, leeks and fennel. But, that is just me being picky. It was an awesome summer! I can’t wait for next year.
For the last time this year, here is a list of what we received this week:
- Delicata Squash
- Futsu Squash
- Leeks
- Radishes
- Fennel
- Kale
- Garlic
- Leeks
- Choice of herbs
- Green Tomatoes
Choose 4 quarts of the following (any combo)
- Potatoes
- Carrots
- Beets
- Onions
Each week I will get home as quick as possible so that I can do an unboxing video so everyone can see what we received.
Thanks so much Lisa!! You’ve done an amazing job this season!!

It was great fun! Your farm family is amazing and so is the food. I am a huge fan of participating in CSAs and hope that my videos and articles help others discover them too.
