As most of you know, I have teamed up with Roots and Shoots Farm for this season’s CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Throughout the season, I will post updates about what we receive, recipe suggestions, and tips and tricks to get the most out of your CSA. To find a CSA in your area, simply search the Internet for “CSA” + your city.
Wait, is it Week #13 already? We only have 5 more weeks left…. this makes me very sad. But, the deliveries that happen in the last 6 weeks of the season are so good, that it makes me very excited.
I have been very lucky to also have lots of extra food brought to me by friends and family. So, my pantry and freezer are quickly filling up. Here are a few pages that you may find helpful.
- Preserving Herbs
- Drying garlic and spring onions
- Roasted Tomatoes
- Refrigerator Pickles
- CSA Storage Strategies
Here is another reminder that soup is an excellent vehicle for left over veggies. I have created a helpful guide for making your own customized soups that you may find helpful: Homemade Soup Generator
Here is a list of what we received:
- Small bunch of tender Kale
- Delicata Squash
- Tomatoes
- Chard

Choose 4 quarts of the following (any combo)

Each week I will get home as quick as possible so that I can do an unboxing video so everyone can see what we received.
Check back each week to see our next unboxing. I have a feeling we are in for some amazing food.
