The next time you go to the grocery store’s produce section, have a look around for some chard. It is a fabulous earthy green that many have seen, but not cooked with.
Whenever I buy chard, instead of just keeping it in the fridge, I go the extra step and store it in a plastic bag with paper towel. This greatly increasing the shelf life, and I can prepare them quickly in a few different ways:
- Saute with garlic and butter
- Saute and then add to cooked quinoa or rice
- Deep-fry pieces for a great garnish or snack
- Or just eat it raw
We found a fabulous video that explains what chard is and how to cook with it.
